Cape Cod Wedding Photography

Cape Cod Wedding Photography is an art. Just as there are many artists on Cape Cod there are also many Photographers. The choice that you have is to find the correct photographer for you.

I have based my product based on pricing. My $950.00 package includes the images that I create that you can have to make your own prints and album. The images are from my Nikon cameras and you will be able to crop them or make prints that are sharp.

I will continue to make albums for clients who want the whole thing done for them. In fact I can produce online albums where you can share it with your family and friends.

My background includes an artist who has been taking photos since 1978. My early work was not too good but my current work speaks for itself. Unfortunately I did toss our 12 years of my early work where I had some spectacular images of Washington, DC. In fact I have taken photos of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin, Debbie Boon, Ed McMahon and Jimmy Stewart. I was in the right place at the right time to be taking photos for the caterer at President Reagan's first inauguration at the Capital Center in Washington, DC. After we were finished with the shots for the caterer we traded press passes with two waiters and we had free access to the event. I walked down from the outside ring of the Capital Center and walked to the stage area. Here is Frank Sinatra rehearsing on the stage. I walked behind him and immediately had a man running around the base of the stage to snag me. He said to me......"you don't want to take photos of Mr. Sinatra from the back...come around to the front". I did what I was told and was in the best position to photograph the singers.

I only wish I had saved all the old photos. I went through a phase of tossing out old things 20 years ago and I tossed out all my beginning photos. Today I wish that I had saved some of them.

Have your ever considered the impact of video for your future?

I was wondering while sitting in a car repair center why the general public does not regard Video Services for Weddings as a necessary vendor to have for your wedding. I do know that cost is a huge factor but what other medium will be kept for generations so your children can watch the vows of their parents.

Do your photographs speak to you and record all the sounds of your day? Do your photographs over the years stay the exact color that they were on your day? The answer to this is NO. I started out as a photographer in Washington, DC and my boss had several photos over the years in a local bakery that started to fade in about fifteen years. Once the fading started it looked worse as the years went on.

With Video we use DVD today to capture your memories and after DVD there will be HD DVD's or Blue Ray if that lasts. With your personal DVD you could also have your wedding placed on a personal hard drive. Over time you will be able to add more personal family videos and other family events to a hard drive. If you even thought as your wedding videographer as your personal family videographer you could hire them to capture your future family events. I recently has one client of mine who I produced the wedding featured on my web site (www.capecodwedding.com) that called me to document the party of their first child. They did want to add a family collection and keep it going for the future.

Needless to say today 95 percent of brides today do not consider this an essential wedding item to have at their weddings. Most consider it as an extra expense that they do not have the budget for. A recent survey done by the WEVA (Wedding and Event Association) showed that 65% of past brides wish after the fact that they had a professional video that they could have for their future.

When you think of your grandparents and how you wish you knew them better how much would you pay to have that on a DVD where you could watch anytime you want? Think of how much your children would be able to enjoy knowing their grandparents in the future. This is exactly what you are doing when you have your own wedding professional videotaped by Richard Talmage Images.

I know that things are changing and my past prices of $2500 and $4500 are not going to sell. I recently sent out 500 emails to 2009 brides and mentioned my new recession buster of $650.00 for four hours of coverage. I was amazed that several brides who responded asked me if I could cut down this price and one or two said they do not have the budget for even this special.

I guess all I am saying is that to miss out on a Professional Videographer who can capture all the audio of your day that no other vendor can do is just wrong. Do you know that a professionally edited video with your input is a singly unique gift that no one else will have. Give it some consideration and perhaps you may have to cut back the flowers, or the napkins. Take it from me it will be worth it in your future.

Just curious....what do you think?
